Episode 09: Do Good & Be Good with John Sauter | The Houseless Crisis in LA
In the newest NOM episode, LeeAnn sits down with her husband, John, to chat about their goals for this New Year and how they plan to better their family and themselves. Recently, John and LeeAnn have been taking steps to help the houseless population in Los Angeles. Instead of just waiting for a solution to happen, LeeAnn and John have been donating nonperishable food, clothing and their time to help their unhoused neighbors. The homeless population skyrocketed 12.7% this previous year, bringing the total number of houseless individuals to 66,433. This number alone is gut wrenching, and knowing that the numbers are still steadily increasing is utterly heartbreaking.
Throughout this New Year, they both are committed to creating change within their environments and using their platforms to do the right thing. LeeAnn recently wrote a blog post that can be found below that talk about the houseless crisis and the many ways everyone can help to combat it. This crisis has been eye opening for both LeeAnn and John and has reminded them to use their privilege to help those in need.
